Dog Park/Horseback riding....

1. Whatever happened to the Dog park that was being constructed over by the Airport?
1.A. Where is it legal, in this area, to let our dog off of it's leash?

2. Where can we rent horses, besides C&M Stables? They are really expensive for tours.

Horseback riding??? That's a good question. I really can't think of any place outside of C&M Stables. If you find another place that does horseback riding tours, please let me know.

As for a place where it's legal to let your dog off it's leash... I'd just go down to the beach through one of the South Jetty accesses or I'd go out to the access by Driftwood Shores, head up the beach a little ways and turn your dog loose there. People usually let their dogs run on the beach and nobody seems to complain. Then their's a park and an access to Enchanted Valley at the end of Mercer Lk. Road. You could probably let your dog run out there without having any problems. As for a place in town... I can't think of any.

I realize this is an older posting but I am a newer local resident and I too am wondering what the status of a Florence Dog Park is. I did a bit of research and saw some reference to it in Commissioners meeting minutes but no real info. Many communities even smaller than Florence have dog parks. I would be willing to work with any group or individual that would like this issue re-lived and make it happen if indeed it has not. Donna
